The Indonesian Dialogues
Thurs 29 August 2024, 19.00 – 21.30
Fri 30 August 2024, 19.00 – 21.00
In spring 2024, a group of European artists travelled to Indonesia for meetings with various experts. Discussions focused on European colonialism and its impact on individuals' fates. Acknowledgement of personal prejudices and decolonization strategies were discussed. The artists' findings will be presented in a performance that makes use of video installations, live music, and live painting. Organizers are planning a space in which members of the public can move between narratives and become part of the conversation themselves.
Artistic direction: Eddie Hara, Sebastian Gisi, Sven Peetoom, Francesca Vincentie
Script, scenario and research: Linda Mayasari
The Indonesian Dialogues is an international co-production between Katalis Collective (Indonesia), There Will Be Film (Netherlands), ROXY Birsfelden (Switzerland), and Landholz Productions.
